Global Missions at Diversity

As we continually strive to be inspirational, relational, and missional, our goal with global missions is to love all people, meet needs, share Jesus with anyone we can, and significantly impact eight core focus areas. These include women and their children, refugees, humanitarian relief, addiction recovery, human trafficking, poverty, those affected by life-threatening diseases, and church planting in developing nations. We invite you to join us at a deeper level in one or more of the following ways.

Learn & Pray

James 5:16 says the righteous person's prayer is powerful and effective. We believe that wholeheartedly and have seen what can happen when people are committed to prayer! As you learn more about the missionaries we support and the people they serve, we encourage you to pray daily for their specific needs.

Sacrifice & Give

Since our beginning, we have allocated a percentage of our budget to global missions, allowing us to support over 40 missionaries in almost two dozen nations, but we can always do more. As you continue to pray about how you can make a difference, we encourage you to consider supporting a specific missionary or contributing to our global missions fund so that we can make a more significant impact on those around us and abroad.

Go & Discover

There will be opportunities for you to go & discover, love your neighbor, and use the gifts that God has given you to meet a specific need. You will be invited to partner with local organizations and attend short discovery trips abroad involving medical missions, clean water solutions, kid's summer camps, and church building throughout the next few years.

  • Maria Santiago, her husband Peter, and their two sons, Miguel and Isaiah, have been faithful volunteers since the beginning of Diversity Church, serving in multiple areas. Since 2016 she has served as the Board Secretary and, in 2022, became the Director of Global Missions. She holds a Management Degree from Indiana Wesleyan University and is a small business owner. From 2014-2022, Maria led a faith-based nonprofit focused on the economic empowerment of single mothers throughout Indianapolis.

As both a pastor's kid and a first-generation American who spent a part of her adolescent years in Mozambique, where her parents are from, she has a global viewpoint and a passion for serving those in need. She recognizes the significance of what God has done throughout her life and wholeheartedly believes that she is to live her life purposefully and accordingly.
