Today’s Social Media Scripture Meditation:

Matthew 6:22-23

(Jesus said) 22 “The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. 23 But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!

Steps to receiving the word from God

(you might split these steps into different times in your day or do them all together)

• Each day, read the scripture (you might like to write the verses out)

• Pray asking God to speak the verses to you personally by the Holy Spirit.

• Read the verses a second time – What does it say about God? What does it say about you?

• Thank God that the verses are true for you, even if you don’t feel it.

• Read the verses a third time

• Pray and ask the Holy Spirit to show you how to respond to this scripture:

Have I received this truth for myself? How would it change my relationship with God if I fully trust this? What do I need to welcome Jesus to do in my heart today (forgive, wash clean, break lies or distortions, teach me, set free, heal, fill me, take down walls, help me receive, deliver from evil, help me surrender, transform my thoughts)? Is there something I need allow God to change in my daily life by His Spirit?

• Try to go back to the verse at another time in the day, write it out where you can see it and memorize it.
